Dear Friends in Christ,

Welcome to First Lutheran Church of Battle Lake!  First Lutheran is a dynamic congregation of the ELCA whose members love to sing and are yoked with rural Trefoldighed Lutheran Church to serve the needs of the Battle Lake community.  The major thrust of our ministry is perhaps threefold:  ministry to our ever-growing retirement community, ministry to our youth and young families, and ministry to our summer visitors.

This ministry takes on many unique forms such as a new Youth Ministry (formerly called Sunday School) which includes educational opportunities for people of all ages; an inter-relational Confirmation Ministry which encourages one-to-one relationships between staff and students; an active Stephen's Ministry which consists of trained lay persons who walk hand-in-hand with people facing life's challenges; a Men's Fellowship which sponsors local yearly Habitat for Humanity buildings as well as many other mission projects; G.I.F.T. (Growing In Faith Together) which is primarily designed to meet the needs of working moms and others with busy daytime schedules; a new summertime Camp-for-a-night program for our children; and many other programs common to the E.L.C.A. such as WELCA, Junior and Senior High Youth Ministries, two Vacation Bible Schools, regular visitation of our shut-in and those with special needs, quilting, as well as other familiar programs.
